Professional Sports Teams
The Texans football team plays in NRG Stadium, which is hosted two Super Bowls!
The Astros baseball team plays in Minute Maid Park.
The Rockets basketball team plays in the Toyota Center, which is also a great place for concerts.
The Dynamo soccer team plays in its own brand new stadium, the BBVA Compass Stadium.
The Houston Jewish Community
About 50,000 Jews live in greater Houston. Houston’s Jewish community is very close and cooperative. The various Jewish movements, synagogues and agencies work together. As the fourth largest city in the US, many national and international Jewish organizations have regional offices in Houston.
Jewish Federation of Greater Houston
Reform Synagogues: Congregation Emanu El (just a few blocks from Houston Hillel), Congregation Beth Israel, Temple Sinai, Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism.
Conservative Synagogues: Beth Yeshurun (the largest Conservative synagogue in the US), Brith Shalom, Or Ami.
Orthodox Synagogues: United Orthodox Synagogues, Meyerland Minyan.
Houston Kosher Chili Cookoff – Houston Hillel has two teams.
